A Crush On You

The smell of that perfume is still fresh in my mind,

As those memories of our prom play on rewind.

You wore a black suit and looked like a handsome lad,

When DJ started playing we were dancing like mad.

You took my hand in yours and flipped me in your arms,

I looked in your magical eyes and was lost in a trance.

We spoke to each other sitting beside the pool,

You looked quite nervous still you seemed to act cool.

Your thoughts seemed linked to my mind and my soul,

You seemed to be so perfect without any loophole.

We were also awarded the best couple of that day,

I felt so amazing and there was nothing more to convey.

Our silence seemed soothing, it felt so calm and serene,

I felt so close, as soulmates for ages, we had been.

When the prom got over you were nowhere to be seen,

You disappeared abruptly and acted so mean.

My eyes still search you in the lonely crowd,

As if I would hear you calling my name out loud.

You seldom appear in my dreams but I have no clue,

I think I have a crush on you.
