Emptiness

Knackered I entered the room,

The lights were dim, the bed untouched,

No sign of you, no presence of love,

I placed the keys on the table of dust,

Which was once the cradle of lust,

Every corner craved for the warmth of affection,

The air had gone stale exaggerating suffocation

The house seemed like a darkened den,

Where loneliness resides, where memories went plain.

I felt the same emptiness in me,

My heart was caged longing to be free.

I knew you were gone and I can never feel your touch,

But your memories are precious and I cannot let it disappear from my clutch.

  1. Great job, “Writing Machine”. You remind me “Emptiness of Space”. Sorry i again use the “Scientific Term”. However, your work represents the hope that kind of hope exists into emptiness when no one assists one’s thoughts.

You had be right there! 👌

And the image with the moving curtains! I’d never be able to find an image that would suit this piece of writing more!
